FIND A LOVELY BOOK CLUB: MAY – JULY 2020 BOOK CLUB PICKS WE LOVE
Table of Contents
I’m so happy. We just wrapped our first cycle of Find A Lovely Book Club. Here are the three books we read in May, June, and July 2020. We kicked off the summer with some contemporary and historical fiction book picks. I gotta say, my favorite was a tie between Daisy Jones & The Six and Red, White & Royal Blue.
MAY BOOK CLUB PICK

MY NOT SO PERFECT LIFE BY SOPHIE KINSELLA
Classified as a romance, I think this book is more of a self-love journey. Kinsella made me laugh and Katie’s career journey reminded me of my intern days but still inspired me to not live two lives—one at work and one outside of work. I loved the character growth in this novel.

JUNE BOOK CLUB PICK

DAISY JONES & THE SIX BY TAYLOR JENKINS REID
I really enjoyed this, read in two sittings. Written as a transcript to something like a behind the music documentary, you were able to jump around each band member’s perspective and story of the fictional band Jenkins made me believe was real.

JULY BOOK CLUB PICK

RED, WHITE & ROYAL BLUE BY CASEY MCQUISTON
I enjoyed this so much. I genuinely laughed out loud and awed at times when the back and forth historical quotes between the characters really sealed the deal on their forbidden love. Great voice! I loved McQuiston’s ability to execute her unique humor and sarcasm on the page. Great if you’re looking for some romance and a self-identity journey.
