Dear Lovely, Patience Doesn’t Mean Wait.

In fact, the correct definition for the word patience is:

The capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.

So next time you hear a friend, your mother or The Universe say…Be Patient, don’t just sit there and wait for something to happen. Go make it happen.

Patience means keep going.

Patience means more like pause and reflect. Take a breath. You are in control of the life you want but that doesn’t mean you are in control. It means to let go, it means release.

You are meant to go out there and get the life you want. To make things happen. You are meant to do great things. In order to do great things, you have to start doing. Committing. Getting your ducks in a row. Starting small to go big, not to stay comfortable.

Patience means don’t wait.

Instead of waiting for the life you want, get up and go get it. The Universe only works to conspire with you if you pull your own weight. It may give you the tools you need to get the life you want but you’re still going to need to build the IKEA bed yourself. Did I lose you?

What I mean is, sometimes we ask for things and we don’t always get them. Sometimes we don’t get what we want right away. Sometimes we get things that help us get what we want but we refuse to use the tools because we are just waiting, being patient. Defining it as the old way we understand patience.

But patience means if it didn’t work the first time, don’t give up! Get back up and try again. Patience means don’t wait around for Mr. Right to come along and sweep you off your feet, it means go BECOME the Mr. Right you’re looking for and fall in love with you.

So be patient.

Be kind to yourself when something doesn’t work out. Keep trying and trying until you reach that goal. And when you reach that one, make a new one.

Don’t let failure consume you. Don’t fall into the trap of waiting around waiting for something to happen. Go make it happen.
