Dear Lovely,

The Universe has your back.
But does it? Yes. It does. Are you sure? Yup.
It doesn’t seem like it…
Sometimes we feel as if the odds are against us. We start to think negatively. Say things we don’t mean. We try and try, try again, but nothing seems to work or go our way. This usually means there’s an imbalance within you. Somewhere along the way, you lost your marbles and you’re desperately trying to get them back.
You see, The Universe wants to work with you. It wants to guide you. It wants you to seek and find what you want and what you are looking for. But it’s not a one-sided relationship. There needs to be a sense of trust. On both ends. Yours and God’s.
Trust The Universe.
Trust. That’s a scary word. I haven’t fully mastered it yet. Have you? Good. We’re on this journey together.
I remember a trust exercise I once did at a retreat. I was to walk blindfolded in a forest and listen to members of my group guide me. It was the scariest shit. I didn’t trust them! They were going to lead me into a tree! The point of the exercise was to try and listen to God; to let The Universe guide you.
That doesn’t mean that you are not in control of your life, you still have a choice. That’s part of free will. It just means there are some things you can’t control. And instead of trying to control those areas of your life, you trust that The Universe has your back and will take care of those things for you.
Trust is a process.
For a long time, I couldn’t even trust my body. It had betrayed me and attacked itself, unlocking an autoimmune disease that didn’t make me Spider-Man. It activated my type one diabetes. How was I supposed to trust anyone if I couldn’t even trust my own body?
If you’re going through a rough time, or feel like you just keep hitting a wall–stop and take a deep breath with me. Release it. Better?
You won’t always trust The Universe. That’s what makes you human. As long as you work towards trust, you and The Universe will have each other’s backs.
With love,
