This is your year. This is your decade.
You get to make it what you want. I have a good feeling about this one. You should too. Not only is it a new year it’s also a new decade, which means you have ten years to reach your long term goals. So, what is it that you are working towards?
Besides the common milestones that might happen in these next ten years, what are some milestones you want to set for yourself? Remember that you are the one who defines your own success. You get to set the tone. You get to decide when to say yes and when to say no. So, what does success mean to you?
You don’t have to do it all at once.
I don’t know why it was easier for me to relax and not put so much pressure on the new year after realizing we also get a new decade. Looking back at everything you’ve accomplished and survived these past ten years should help you realize that you are stronger than you thought you were and you have a bright future ahead of you. My love, you’re only just getting started.
While today may be the first day of the year, remember that you don’t have to do everything on your list all at once. Start by doing one thing and setting the right intentions. Building a new habit is not going to happen overnight. Be kind to yourself. Stay resilient. Keep going.
You can start over and begin again.
Before I leave you to enjoy the first day of your new adventure, let me remind you that the new year isn’t always the first day of the race. You can start over tomorrow, you can build the habit next month. It might take 365 days to make it around the sun, but remember that the moon starts over every month. You can follow both.
You can add to your goals, modify them, remove them from your list completely if you feel like they aren’t working for you anymore. But stick with it. The progress that is. As long as you are moving forward, you are always winning.
So, happy new year love. I hope it’s a great one. In fact, I know it will be because you’re already on your way to making it happen for yourself. This is your year. You got this.
