There will be seasons in your life where you won’t have a plus one. Times where you won’t find someone to take you somewhere. My dear, fly solo. The more you get to know yourself, the more you’ll love yourself. Embrace this time. There will be a season in your life where you will share your time gladly with another. This is the time where you should share the most time with you.
Dance alone, the floor is yours. Grab a drink alone, bring a book. Go to the movies alone, get the popcorn too. The more you spend time with yourself, the more you’ll start to find out that you are not alone. The entire Universe lives within you. And a relationship with yourself is the most important thing you’ll ever have. It’s not a selfish love, it’s self-love.
There will be people who do not understand this magic, for they have never been on their own. Do not judge them, love, they’re often scared. They need someone. You want someone, you don’t need anyone. Show them what it means to carry your own coat and have fun. Take yourself home at the end of the day and unwind in a bath. Take care of yourself. Learn to do this before you choose to care for yourself and another. For you are not alone, you have you.
And you must learn that being alone, isn’t lonely. It’s lovely.
