4 Ways to not lose hope
Table of Contents
Hope is a funny thing. Hang on to it for a long time and you’ll start to lose its trust. If you’re just hoping things work out, I hope they do too. In the meantime, here are ways to not lose hope, even and especially when you are lost.
Trust the process
Are you impatient? Same. A lot of times we put in the work and look around to see nothing. Well, I’ll be the first to fight you on this but things are working for you behind the scenes. Where? I don’t see it. The Universe has your back, remember? The hard work you’ve done, those are planted seeds. It takes time to grow. Trust the process, let go of the outcome.
Lower your expectations
The best way to ruin anything is to have high expectations. Please do not confuse this with standards and boundaries. Those are important and are crucial to your self-love journey. What I’m talking about are the things we expect to happen. A lot of times, these are tied to our dreams and living in our minds. Often times, we end up disappointed by how someone doesn’t go all out for our birthday or how the vacation of your dreams ends up having a hotel mix-up. The best way not to lose hope is to lower your expectations and let life surprise you.
Bounce back
If something doesn’t go your way, that doesn’t mean it’s the end of the road. Life is going to throw a bunch of curveballs at you. This doesn’t mean that the whole world is against you. Level up, like a video game. Get back up and try again. Hope should be your foundation, it should be the reason you get back up. You are stronger than you think, you can get through this. Bounce back as many times as you need to, hope is your springboard. Bounce up!
Take action
Hope isn’t about just waiting. Hope is a tool in your back pocket. It’s your secret weapon for not giving up. It’s there for you, but you’re going to have to take a few steps forward. The more actions you take, the closer you’ll be to your desired outcome. This might change over time. Sometimes when we take actions to get to the next step, we might discover we were aiming for the wrong thing. A shift in perspective is good. You’re human, your mind will always be evolving. Take action towards something, hope will follow.
