Man has it been a year of receiving. It’s the final episode of season one! One of my favorite blog posts I used to look forward to writing was A Year in Review. I thought it would be the perfect send-off for this year of receiving. Join me for a little winter fireside chat as I share what I learned this year. I also look back at all our guest episodes and highlight the biggest lovely nuggets of wisdom we got from each one.
As you start the countdown to 2025 and have been looking back at 2024, I hope you’re being gentle with yourself. Remember that a calendar year is one of many opportunities to start again. There’s always tomorrow, too. We’ll see you in season two!

Season One, Episode Eleven
I can’t believe we made it to the end of season one. In true perfectionism, I wanted this season to be twelve episodes. I blazed through starting this podcast before I felt ready which was very hard to combat that perfectionism but we did it anyway. Part of this process and pushing through it made me come to terms with feeling change and working with it, not against it.
In episode five, we talked about self-love as action. One of the best lessons I learned from my mentor James McGowan was reframing your goals and checking in with yourself to pivot. Did I want twelve episodes, yes. But was I exhausted? Fuck yes.
I think a lot of times when we’re in charge of our own dreams and we hold ourselves to this impossible standard, we often get in our own way. Slow growth (even if you’re operating at 100mph) is still growth. So if you’re struggling with meeting a goal you set a year ago and you need to adjust your finish line, listen to yourself. Course correct to advocate for who you are now. Past you will understand.
Creativity in a safe space.
A year of receiving comes with opening yourself up to more creativity. Something that has been circling me around this month is how safe I feel when I am in creative mode. This podcast has been a space for me to dive deeper into my self-love journey. But in order for me to access that frequency I had to convince myself I was safe. The people I talked to this season made it safe. It was important for me this season to talk to people that have helped me along my journey.
The safer we are, the more creative we can be. This is why it’s so important for me to make this a safe place for all self-love journeys. The safer you feel, the more open you are to healing yourself. Creativity can only flow if you feel safe enough to let it through. Self-love can only flow if you feel safe enough to welcome all versions of yourself so that every version of you has a seat at the table.
A Year of Receiving
One of the things that kept circling around our conversations this season was around how much our guests were craving that inner child healing. We dove into that in episode three and it continued to be a theme in my healing and everyone else’s as well. Part of your healing is always tied to that anchor and I always believe that your inner child is your biggest guide.
As I reflected on a year of receiving, I saw the foundation I built a few years before in my 40 days of receiving challenge. It reminded me of tools I built to get me through this year of receiving. To end this season, I wanted to find a Lovely Letter that was celebratory to end this long as year and also gave us a little hope for what’s ahead. Dear lovely, this is your year.
