Surprise! I turned my self-love journey blog into a podcast. After seven years of documenting my life on this blog, I decided to give it a rebirth. I had been going back and forth about this idea and finally decided to take the plunge.

Season One, Episode One
I share the highlights of my self-love journey so far along with some tools that have helped me, especially words. They anchor my self-love journey more than I realized. From chatting about my word for the year and talking about why that is such an important anchor for my self-love progress, I finally felt that after experiencing a year of community, that it was time to add more lovely souls here too.
This year, my word is receive (eek!) and it’s already been something I decided to prepare for leading up to 2024. As a pretty self-aware person, I move at the speed of the energizer bunny when it comes to self-love and personal growth. I actually completely forgot I did a 40 day challenge on learning how to receive more. shocker.
Podcast means new paths to growth
Alas, I am going to keep moving forward and embrace this year in new ways. I always knew I eventually wanted this to grow into it being more about just my own self-love journey. The more that I kept reflecting and using writing as a tool for self-growth, I got to a point where it felt like there was no point to this anymore.
Instead of deleting or hiding this or alternating past posts to reflect more of who I was, I decided to go full phoenix and use the ashes to create something new. Alas, the find a lovely life podcast was born.
Self love turns into a healing journey
One of the things I’ve learned about self-love is that it kinda creeps up on you and turns into a healing journey. I didn’t have a blueprint or road map to self-love…and I definitely didn’t have a blueprint for healing. I want this podcast to be a place where you feel safe to embark on a self-love journey on your own but not feel like you have to actually do it alone.
I wish someone had told me or had a guide when I decided to do this for myself seven years ago. My hope is that in sharing my journey, and adding more self love journeys to this space, you can plug and play and see what fits for you.

More: A lovely conversation with Jenissa Graham
Episode one had to have one of my biggest cheerleaders. My first guest is one of my most supportive friends, Jenissa Graham who just finished a year of “me” and is embarking on her year of “more” oh so fearlessly. We chatted about some of the words that have led her to put herself first more (pun intended).
Our conversation reminded me of one of my favorite lovely letters that also reminded me that I was in fact loved. (It’s okay, even I forget sometimes too.) Episode one had to have a letter that reminded us of this simple yet heavy belief: you are loved.

Current plan is to do these once a month but if you need more lovely words to help guide your self-love journey, there are lovely gems waiting for you on the blog.
Whether you’re just starting your self-love journey or you’re in the middle of it, you’re not late or behind. The intent for this place was always to make you feel less alone.
